With the integration of clearer feature demarcations and improved navigational cues, user interactions with Parrot have become more streamlined. Feedback on advanced functionalities has been instrumental in shaping subsequent updates, leading to a more cohesive and user-friendly communication experience for participants.
Project Overview
Parrot is a comprehensive software communication tool developed by the Axya team. It seamlessly integrates video, audio, messaging, and data functionalities, enabling users worldwide to create and participate in online meetings from various devices, be it computers or mobiles.
My Role
As the solo designer for Parrot, I spearheaded the entire design journey, from ideation to the present iteration. Collaborating closely with the product team, I was instrumental in formulating design requirements, overseeing discovery phases, and executing usability assessments. My collaboration with the tech team was pivotal in translating design visions into functional solutions.
Business Objectives

Usability Testing, Findings & Iterations
Conducting rigorous usability testing with our core user base was critical. By simulating real-world scenarios, users were asked to start, join, and manage meetings using Parrot.
Findings
- Users appreciated the intuitive interface but struggled with some advanced features.
- The distinction between certain functionalities like screen sharing and chat needed clearer demarcation.
- Users sought better integration with third-party tools and platforms.
- There was a consistent request for more robust security and privacy features.
