Outcome
The designed of the platform received positive feedback, with users finding it easier to navigate and complete assessments. The improved clarity of the ESG badges and streamlined forms led to higher user satisfaction and engagement.
Project Overview
This project developed a platform for companies to assess their ESG maturity through quick or detailed assessments. Users complete categorized forms and receive one of four ESG badges, helping them improve governance, social, and environmental practices. The platform is secure, user-friendly, and offers detailed reports.
My Role
As the Product Designer, I led the design process for this project, creating an intuitive and user-friendly interface. I collaborated with ESG experts and developers to ensure a seamless user experience. My role involved conducting user research, designing the assessment forms, and developing the badge system, all while prioritizing security and accessibility.

Challenges
- Simplifying diverse and complex ESG criteria into user-friendly assessment forms without losing essential details.
- Keeping users engaged and motivated to complete detailed assessments without feeling overwhelmed.
- Providing comprehensive assessments while maintaining an intuitive and straightforward user experience.
Usability Testing, Findings & Iterations
For user research, I conducted semi-structured interviews to provide consistency while allowing exploration beyond the set questions. This approach helped interviewees express their experiences, thoughts, and behaviors, yielding relevant data.
Findings
During usability testing, several key issues emerged. Users found the navigation structure unclear, leading to confusion when moving through the platform. The forms were seen as too lengthy and complex, causing some users to feel overwhelmed. Additionally, the purpose and criteria of the ESG badges were not immediately clear, which led to misunderstandings about their significance and how to achieve them.

UI Design & Prototype
After the user feedback, significant improvements were made to enhance the overall user experience. The navigation structure was simplified with clearer labels, making it easier for users to move through the platform. Forms were broken down into smaller, more manageable sections with progress indicators, reducing the feeling of being overwhelmed. Tooltips and a detailed guide were added to explain the ESG badges, ensuring users understood their purpose and criteria. These changes were implemented and tested through Figma for prototyping and remote usability testing, ensuring a user-friendly and intuitive design.
